The ASU-Beebe 2022 Strategic Plan Spotlight awards for February, March and April were recently presented to Emily Harris, Jesse Arnold and Regina Ramey.
ASU-Beebe faculty and staff are nominated for these awards by fellow faculty and staff based on their contributions toward achieving the college's strategic plan and three overarching strategic goals of Strong From The Start, P32B1, and ASUBe Connected.
Emily Harris, Instructor of Education, received the February spotlight award based on Strategic Goal 1: Strong from the Start, in providing students the information and resources needed for success. The nomination stated: “Emily is in her first year as an Education Instructor on the Heber Springs campus. As the advisor for the Future Educators Club, she has helped the students make a difference in local school districts. She has worked hard to make sure we can grow our own teachers and day-care providers close to home by working with local school districts to build better pathways for students to become teachers. Emily never turns down an opportunity to promote education classes at ASU-Beebe.”
Jesse Arnold, Business Manager on the Heber Springs campus, received the March spotlight award based on Strategic Goal 2: P32B1, which stands for Policies, Practices and Procedures to be One College. The nomination stated: “Jesse is committed to a one-college approach of serving students. He answers every student's question to the best of his ability. He explains his answers to educate the student on procedures and policies. If he does not know the answer, he will reach out to colleagues and get back to the student with the correct answer. Jesse is always helping the Business Office staff solve problems, verify data, and learn how best to get information from our data system. He understands the value of leveraging our collective strengths to best serve the students.”
Regina Ramey, Director of Adult Education, received the April spotlight award based on Strategic Goal 3: ASUBeConnected, in making connections outside the classroom toward student success. The nomination stated: “Gina works diligently to make connections with community members, industry, and nonprofits to find, or create, opportunities for Adult Education participants. Whether it's working with industry to serve on the Adult Education Advisory Board or mining her network of contacts for new opportunities, she's always looking to develop meaningful connections to benefit ASU-Beebe. She encourages her team to participate in community events, which creates a ripple effect for making connections.”
