Graphic Design AFA = Associate of Fine Arts
A graphic design student at Arkansas State University-Beebe will develop the knowledge and skills to integrate communication and critical thinking in all spheres of design. Students will become familiar with design fundamentals, mobile/web technology and user experience while preparing to transfer to a baccalaureate institution.

Program Outcomes

  • Demonstrate a foundational level of visual literacy with a focus on the elements and principles of design. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. 
  • Be familiar with the process of solving visual problems, relying on visual ideation and experimentation. 
  • Gain a basic understanding of two-dimensional media for use in solving visual problems. 
  • Be prepared to communicate about visual issues and visual communication.
