The Arkansas State University-Beebe licensed practical nurse/paramedic to Associate of Applied Science in registered nursing (LPN to RN) program is a fast-track program providing current credentialed LPNs or paramedics to pursue a greater level of education in the registered nursing field. The program consists of 34 prerequisite courses and 30 nursing core courses. The role of the registered nurse builds on the basic knowledge of students' previous educational and work experience.

What is the Next Generation Accuplacer exam?
The Accuplacer exam is a computerized test that evaluates students' reading, math, and English skills to place them in appropriate college courses.

What is on the test and how long is it? The test is not timed, but set aside 1.5 to 2 hours.
It has three sections:

  • Reading: 20 multiple-choice questions
  • WritePlacer: 300-600 word essay or Writing: 20 multiple-choice grammar questions
  • Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS): 20 multiple-choice questions
Students can take either the Writing or WritePlacer portion. A low score on one allows taking the other to avoid remedial courses. ASU-Beebe accepts both.

How much does the test cost?
- Full test: $15

- Beebe Campus: Vanguard One Stop, McKay Student Center
- Heber Springs Campus: Business Office, Student Services/Administration building
- Little Rock Air Force Base: Room 115, University Center
- Searcy Campus: Student Services, Main Building

When will I receive my scores? Print your results immediately after completing the exam or look them up at the Accuplacer Score Report.

What is the retest policy? You can retake any section on the next available testing day, up to three times within 30 days.
