Learning Center

The Learning Center staff includes full-time professionals on multiple ASU Beebe campuses, who are experienced, qualified, and committed to your academic success. Carefully selected part-time and student tutors also assist students.

Services We Offer

Free Tutoring

The Learning Center provides free tutoring for all ASU-Beebe students with no appointment necessary. All of our full time tutors have degrees in the subject matter that they are tutoring. Part-time professional tutors and peer tutors are also available to work with students.

Online Tutoring via Blackboard

Online tutoring is available for ASU-Beebe students through Blackboard. Log-in to Vanguard Portal, open Blackboard and then select the Learning Center link in your course list. Simply, post your questions on the Discussion Board. Response time is typically 4 hours.

Please view the Learning Center Online video for more detailed instruction or contact the Learning Center Director.

Online Writing Tutor

ASU-Beebe Learning Center now offers tutoring via email with our online writing tutor. Students can get help by sending an email to writingtutor@asub.edu. Students should include their name and student ID number in the subject line of their email. Also, please include a copy of the original assignment(s), so our writing tutors will be able to better assist you. Papers will be returned within 24 hours with suggestions from one of the Learning Center writing tutors.

Early Intervention

The Learning Center's Online Early Intervention is a system that allows faculty members to refer students for academic support.  If you are referred for early intervention, your instructor feels you could benefit from additional academic support from the Learning Center in the form of tutoring or study strategies.

What happens after I am referred?

You will receive a phone call, email, or letter from a member of the Learning Center staff.  Learning Center staff members will discuss tutoring options with you and/or assist you with study strategies.

Why is Early Intervention important?

Students who seek assistance early in the semester are more likely to be successful.  Sometimes all a student needs is a few tutoring sessions or help with study strategies.  Early Intervention is not designed to be punitive or judgmental.

Attention Faculty: The Early Intervention Referral Form is located under Faculty Resources through the intranet.
