LRAFB Campus

The Little Rock Air Force Base Education Center has offered ASU-Beebe classes at the base since 1965 to support United States Air Force education programs. Classes at the Education Center are open to military and non-military students alike.

LRAFB Education Center

In 2011, the base’s education center relocated to the new Jacksonville-Little Rock AFB Education Center, a project jointly funded by the USAF and the City of Jacksonville.  This state-of-the-art facility is located on LRAFB property adjacent to Highway 67/167 and is open to the public.  The Education Center provides undergraduate and graduate programs offered by multiple public and private universities.

Not everyone working at a military base is a member of the armed services. Service members' families and civilian base employees are also an important part of the LRAFB community. Military spouses can take advantage of their close proximity to an ASU-Beebe campus by taking classes at our Little Rock AFB Campus. Additional financial assistance is also available under the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts for spouses who seek certification or an associate degree in an occupation that may be available regardless of where a service member is stationed.

Other civilians employed on base can improve their job prospects by earning a degree at our LRAFB Campus. For more information on what ASU-Beebe LRAFB can offer, go to the Degrees tab below.

Two examination-for-credit-- the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DSST examinations-- are provided for students who desire to earn college credits by demonstration their knowledge of academic subjects on standardized, internet-based tests.

For CLEP & DSST scheduling, please see the link below or call 501-988-4151.

ASU-Beebe recognizes the unique nature of military service and is committed to easing the transfer of relevant course credits, providing flexible academic residency requirements, and crediting learning from appropriate military training and experience.

Many courses offered at the Little Rock Air Force Base center satisfy Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), USAF Airman Education and Commissioning Program (AECP), and USAF Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) requirements. Classes are open to active duty military personnel, Department of Defense civilian employees, military Reserve members, National Guard personnel, military dependents, and military retirees. Courses are also available to the general public on a space available basis, security posture permitting. ASU-Beebe accepts transfer credit from the Community College of the Air Force, a regionally accredited and federally chartered degree-granting institution.

Tuition Assistance (TA) is a Department of Defense (DOD) program.  TA rules vary by branch of service and can even vary between units depending on whether the unit is active, reserve or National Guard.

Air Force Students are required to get supervisor approval, attend a TA briefing, make an educational goal, take an assessment, make a formal educational plan and register for class.

The window for applying for TA is 45 days before the start of the term and no later than 7 days prior to the start of class.

Tuition Refund Policy for ASUB

1. Drop Requests: Students may drop a course, with no notation of course enrollment on their transcripts, during the drop period only.

2. Late Drop Requests:   Personnel covered under this section of the curriculum standards manual are uniformed members of the US Armed Forces who are registered or enrolled in a class at ASU Beebe-LRAFB and who must drop a class due to official military service obligation (e.g., short notice of travel for deployment/re-assignment/temporary duty). A "late drop" will be considered for military personnel who receive a "short" notice official military service obligation, preventing continued enrollment in a class.

3. Withdrawal/Refund Schedule:

Fall and Spring Semesters Summer and 8 week Terms Intersession Term
100% during the first week 100% during the first two days 100% first day only
60% during the second or third week 50% during the next 3 days No other refund
No refunds after 3 weeks

Note: ASU Beebe-LRAFB will continue to work with military students on a case by case basis to determine refund eligibility when official documentation of a military service obligation is provided (e.g., short notice deployment/re-assignment/temporary duty.) Books will not be eligible for a refund.
