What is the DANTES (DSST) exam?

The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES)/DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) program is an extensive series of examinations in college subject areas that are comparable to the final or end-of-course examinations in undergraduate courses.

How much does the exam cost?

DSST exams are free to eligible military personnel. All eligible candidates must present the following two forms of identification:

  • Current military ID card
  • Government-issued photo ID with signature

Non-military personnel pay the following amounts on the day of the exam:

  • $80.00 per test (with a credit card only - VISA, MasterCard, or American Express)
  • $25.00 non-refundable administration fee (credit card or check or money order payable to ASU-Beebe)

Which campus offers this exam?

DANTES/DSST is offered only on the ASU-Beebe Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB) campus.

When is the exam offered?

DSST exams are administered Monday - Friday. Call the LRAFB Campus at 501.988.4151 for information and to schedule an exam.

How can I register for this exam?

Advanced registration is required. The registration-admissions form must be received by the LRAFB campus no later than 5:00 p.m. the day prior to testing.

When will I receive my scores?

Examinees will be able to view their score upon completion of the exam; but a printout of the score will not be available on the day of the exam. Examinees will receive their score within 4 weeks after the initial test date.

What is the institutional code?

DANTES funded military examinee results are automatically sent to the Community College of the Air Force - no institution code necessary. For DSST examination results to be sent to another school, the examinee must know the school's 4-digit institutional code.

  • ASU-Beebe (LRAFB Campus): 7125
