As the amount of information expands exponentially, the library is here to help our academic community make choices that will solve their needs. Below are some of the types of classes or sessions that we teach:
Library Instruction Sessions
A class that is specifically designed for a library assignment. The session usually lasts one class period and includes a lecture and discussion with active learning exercises. Some exercises may go beyond the class period, depending on the class and the instructor.
Demonstrations on Various Library Databases
Open classes are available to all on a first-come, first-served basis. Some sessions include the following: Library Catalog, Academic Search Premier, OverDrive, and ScienceDirect, among others. Other topics are added as needed or by request.
General Tours
Just the basics of the library: what we have and where things are.
Faculty Information Sessions
This is designed for departments or individual faculty members who want an overview of the types of materials that we have in general or in their discipline.
