Basics of Welding
This class is 40-hours and meets typically between the hours of 6 and 10 p.m. during the week. This class prepares students for the American Welding Society (AWS) certification test in various welding processes. Cost includes tuition, supplies and certification fees. Students must supply their own welder's helmet with at least a #10 lens and gauntlet style gloves. Please note that topics and techniques covered in class can be modified to fit current welding ability and interests.
Blueprint Reading Basics
The blueprint reading class is designed to cover the foundational skills needed to understand blueprints utilized in multiple industry settings. All construction and maintenance professionals, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office, must know how to read blueprints. Blueprint reading is not terribly difficult but it does require practice and some basic knowledge of blueprints. This course is designed to provide you with foundational knowledge and practice at reading blueprints. Mastery of blueprint reading will come with practice and using blueprints on the job on a regular basis.

Electrical Apprenticeship - 144 Hours
The state of Arkansas requires a person working in the electrical field to either have a journeyman or master electrician license or be enrolled in an approved electrical apprenticeship program working toward that goal. At ASU-Beebe Heber Springs camps, a four-year electrical apprenticeship program is offered. The program is designed for those working in the electrical field and interested in obtaining an electrical journeyman's license. The courses are taught by instructors with years of combined experience in the field and in the classroom based on a program designed by a local electrical committee with approval by the Arkansas Department of Career Education State Apprenticeship Office.
To qualify for the electrical apprenticeship program, students must be employed by a master electrician and gaining 2,000 on-the-job training hours per year. Once employed under the supervision of a master electrician, a student has thirty (30) days to enroll in a state approved apprenticeship program.
Enrollment: Open year round. All classes are August through May.
Tuition/Cost: Cost established by Electrical Apprenticeship Board.
Certification Requirements: Successfully complete the mandated 144 instruction hours per year for a total of 576 classroom hours.
Class Schedule: Tuesdays, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Plumbing Apprenticeship - 160 Hours
The state of Arkansas requires a person working in the plumbing field must either have a journeyman or master plumber license or be enrolled in an approved plumbing apprenticeship program working toward that goal.
At ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus, we offer a four-year plumbing apprenticeship program designed for those working in the plumbing field and interested in obtaining a plumbing journeyman's license. Our courses are taught by instructors with years of combined experience in the field and in the classroom based on a program designed by the Heber Springs Plumbing Apprenticeship Committee with approval by the Arkansas Department of Career Education State Apprenticeship Office.
To qualify for the plumbing apprenticeship program, students must be employed by a master plumber and gaining 2,000 on-the-job training hours per year. Once employed under the supervision of a master plumber, a student has thirty (30) days to enroll in a state approved apprenticeship program.
Enrollment: Open year round. Classes run August through March.

Certification Requirements: Successfully complete the mandated 160 instruction hours per year for four years, a total of 640 classroom hours.
