Precision Agriculture
Be part of the future of farming. ASU-Beebe’s Precision Agriculture program teaches students how to use cutting-edge technology such as drones, global positioning systems (GPS), geographical information systems (GIS) and data analytics to improve crop production and farm efficiency. Students will gain hands-on experience and technical skills to succeed in today’s high-tech agriculture industry. Associate degree and certificate options are available.

Program Outcomes

  • Operate Advanced Field Technologies: Demonstrate proficiency in preparing, piloting, and maintaining cutting-edge agricultural hardware, including unmanned aerial systems (drones), GPS-guided field machinery, and variable-rate application equipment.

  • Analyze Spatial and Geographic Data: Utilize geographic information systems (GIS) software to map field boundaries, monitor soil variability, analyze crop health, and generate actionable management zones for variable-rate applications.

  • Improve Farm Efficiency: Interpret complex agricultural data analytics to optimize crop inputs, improve yields, and maximize economic and environmental sustainability on the farm.

  • Problem-Solve in High-Tech Ag Environments: Apply critical thinking and technical troubleshooting skills to resolve real-world software, hardware, and data communication issues common in the modern precision agriculture sector.

  • Prepare for Career Entry or Transfer: Exhibit the industry-aligned professional skills, safety protocols, and certifications required to enter the workforce immediately or smoothly transition into a four-year agricultural technology or degree program.
