Dr. Joseph Scott Named to Arkansas Deans Association Executive Committee
Posted Date: 11/3/26

Dr. Joseph Scott, dean of the Math and Science Division and assistant professor of biology at Arkansas State University-Beebe, was recently named an executive committee member of the Arkansas Deans Association (ADA).

Scott was nominated and elected by members of the ADA to replace Dr. Blake Perkins, vice chancellor for academics at ASU-Beebe, who has held the ADA committee position since 2023.

“I am honored to serve on this committee,” Scott said. “I hope to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing Arkansas colleges and universities and collaborate with other deans to develop strategies to address these issues.”

In addition, Scott is serving on the Higher Learning Commission’s Peer Review Corp, which is a group of approximately 1,450 faculty, administrators and staff, who are trained to evaluate colleges and universities across the nation for continuous improvement.

“In addition to serving on the deans committee, Dr. Scott’s selection to join HLC as a peer reviewer is outstanding news, and I am very proud of his accomplishments,” said Dr. Blake Perkins. “This opportunity will provide valuable professional experience as an academic leader and will also strengthen our own institutional accreditation efforts.”
