New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation

Welcome, Vanguard!

Congratulations on your decision to join the Vanguard community! ASU-Beebe looks forward to working with you throughout your transition to college. Through programs like New Student Orientation and Welcome Week, we seek to provide you with the information and experiences to prepare and excite you for the beginning of your college experience.

New Student Orientation (NSO) at ASU-Beebe is a 3-hour program aimed at providing you, and your family, with an introduction to life on campus, a snapshot of the college classroom environment, and an opportunity to finalize all your student account details (i.e., financial aid, class registration, etc.). All new students are strongly encouraged to attend NSO. A companion program for parents and families is available for family members traveling to ASU-Beebe with you for NSO. Tickets are required due to limited capacity.

These sessions are open to any new student taking classes on our four campuses. *Evening Events

Students are limited to two (2) Family Members/Support Persons to accompany them to in-person New Student Orientation.

What will New Student Orientation be like?

New Student Orientation is designed to connect you to fellow students, campus life, and college traditions. The session will include small group interaction with student leaders, free giveaway games, and a presentation highlighting the most important information you need to know to be successful in your first year at ASU-Beebe.

The Heber Springs Campus offers specialized orientation workshops for students fully attending classes at the Heber Springs Campus. These sessions will help you connect with campus resources and services. Learn how to log in to your student accounts, pay your bill, purchase textbooks, and more.
All sessions on the Heber Springs Campus are walk-in and do not require pre-registration.

    Orientation dates TBD.

The Searcy Campus offers specialized orientation workshops for students fully attending classes at the Searcy Campus. These sessions will help you connect with campus resources and services. Learn how to log in to your student accounts, pay your bill, purchase textbooks, and more.
All sessions on the Searcy Campus are walk-in and do not require pre-registration.
    Dates to be announced.
Due to the special nature of the instructional site at the Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB), specialized orientation is held by LRAFB site staff. Students attending classes at the LRAFB will receive the necessary information from their instructors. LRAFB students may contact the LRAFB campus staff for more information at 501.882.4581.

Online Orientation will introduce you to the college and provide information and resources to help you succeed at your own pace. Designed for students attending ASU-Beebe fully online or students unconformable with attending an in-person event, Online Orientation is a brief, 1-hour course and resource guide hosted in Canvas - the online platform you will access all/most of your classes' assignments and grades.

You will complete a series of modules which include videos, resources, and important dates to learn about your next steps to complete at your own pace. Topics include:

    • Getting Started: Banner, Financial Aid, Placement Testing and Registration
    • How can the Advising and Learning Center get me ready for ASU-Beebe?
    • How do I pay for this semester?
    • How do I succeed as a college student at ASU-Beebe?
    • Who can I reach out to when I need help?
    • How can I become part of the ASU-Beebe Community?
