Strong Spring Enrollment Driven by Retention and Early College Momentum
Posted Date: 2/23/26

ASU-Beebe reported continued enrollment momentum for the spring 2026 semester, with total headcount increasing 11.8% compared with last spring, according to 11th-day census reports.
Spring enrollment reached 3,450 students, while semester credit hours increased 10.6% to 31,704. The gains reflect improved student persistence, expanded early college participation and coordinated campus efforts focused on supporting students beyond initial enrollment.
“Spring enrollment is an important indicator of whether students are staying engaged and continuing their academic progress,” said Dr. Jennifer Methvin, chancellor of ASU-Beebe. “These results show that our focus on student support, communication and collaboration across campus is making a difference.”
Early college participation remained a significant driver of growth. Early college enrollment totaled 1,405 students, an increase of 20% from last spring, while early college semester credit hours rose 29.4% to 8,369. ASU-Beebe’s early college programs allow high school students to earn college credit and career credentials through concurrent enrollment and Regional Career Center partnerships while completing their high school diploma.
“These pathways help students begin college with confidence and a clear sense of direction,” Methvin said. “They also strengthen the connection between secondary education, workforce training and continued college success.”
Retention from the fall 2025 semester into spring 2026 was 77%, which is an increase of two percentage points, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen advising, academic support and student engagement. The spring gains also align with expanded student-focused outreach, messaging and recruiting efforts designed to encourage persistence and completion.
