The scholarship events provided an opportunity for the students to meet and thank their scholarship donors.
Foundation scholarships at ASU-Beebe have been privately funded throughout the years by generous donors who share a passion for the success and education of students who choose ASU-Beebe. Private funded scholarships awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year were more than $95,000.
Students receiving scholarships represented all the ASU-Beebe campuses located in Beebe, Heber Springs, Searcy, and the Little Rock Air Force Base.
ASU-Beebe Development Council Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Taylor Lenderman from Carlisle, a health sciences major, and Carlie McMullen from Judsonia, a liberal arts and sciences major. The ASU-Beebe Development Council is a group of community leaders and friends of the college, who combine efforts to secure private funding and increase endowments to benefit students choosing to attend ASU-Beebe.
ASU-Beebe General Scholarship was awarded to Hope Branch from Batesville, a Veterinary Technology major. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and dedication to personal growth, allowing students at ASU-Beebe to focus on their studies and reach their full potential.
ASUB Heber Springs General Scholarship was awarded to Seth Maisch from Heber Springs, a Computer Systems and Networking Technology major. The scholarship was established to support students enrolled full-time at the Heber Springs campus, whether traditional or non-traditional status.
Ben T. and Edith M. Eoff Family Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Joshua Gullahorn from Cabot, a liberal arts and sciences major and Abbey Baker from Quitman, an agriculture major. The Eoff Family Scholarship was endowed in 2006 by Cathy Eoff, owner of Eoff & Associates Realty in Beebe, and renamed as a tribute to her parents for their dedication to education.
Billy F. Powell Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Faith Bettis from Beebe, an education major. The scholarship was established by Mary Powell in 2011 in memory of her husband Billy Powell, an instructor of psychology at ASU-Beebe at the time of his death.
Brenda Shurley Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Shae Ballard from Rose Bud, an education major. The scholarship was endowed in 2005, and is made available by Brenda Shurley of Cabot, owner of the Shurley Method.
Brinkley Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Christen Burton from Heber Springs, an early childhood education major. The Brinkley Scholarship is presented to an incoming freshman who has a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship was established by Jack and Olivia Dowell, owners of Camp Bear Track in Drasco, and reflects their strong commitment to education in Cleburne County.
Business and Professional Women of Heber Springs-ACF Scholarship was awarded to Shelby ‘Jude’ Wilson from Searcy, a liberal arts and sciences major. The Business and Professional Women of Heber Springs established the scholarship to be given to a resident of Cleburne County who attends ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus and maintains a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
Charles and Regina Stuart Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Blake McElhaney from Drasco, a liberal arts and sciences major. Charles and Regina Stuart are longtime supporters of Cleburne County and the historical society.
Charlotte Lacy Educational Leadership Scholarship was awarded to Betty Whitehurst from Heber Springs, an early childhood education major. The scholarship honors the legacy of Charlotte Lacy, a devoted educator and visionary leader in the Heber Springs community. Charlotte played a key role in establishing the ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus and served for many years on its Development Council. This scholarship supports a Cleburne County student pursuing a degree in education and reflects Charlotte’s lifelong dedication to learning and her lasting impact on local education.
Chuck Wisdom Jr. Agricultural Heritage Scholarship was awarded to John Shaver from Patterson, an agriculture major. The Chuck Wisdom, Jr. Agricultural Heritage Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student attending ASU-Beebe who is pursuing studies in agriculture. The scholarship was named to honor Chuck Wisdom, Jr., a beloved 30-year faculty member, veteran, mentor and community leader, and celebrates Wisdom’s lifelong commitment to the land, education, and the students whose lives he helped shape.
Cleburne County Memorial Chapter 1757 UDC Scholarship was awarded John ‘Zack’ Rhodes from Tumbling Shoals, a liberal arts and sciences major. The scholarship was established to further higher education pursuits of the recipients. The scholarship was established by the Daughters of the Confederacy, a group founded in 1894 to preserve and honor Confederate memory after the American Civil War (1861–1865).
Col. Vernon H. and Mary Wold Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Tatiana Garcia from Heber Springs, a health sciences major. The scholarship honors two remarkable individuals whose lives were defined by service, education, and community leadership. Mary Wold devoted over 40 years to volunteerism, literacy, and civic engagement, while Col. Wold—a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam—championed education and youth programs, leading efforts to establish the Wold Cleburne County Library in Heber Springs.
Denver and Ruby Nettles Memorial Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Ella Marter from Searcy and Callie Freese from Judsonia, both agriculture majors. The Denver and Ruby Nettles scholarship was established in memory of both Ruby and Denver E. Nettles, a former assistant professor and division chair of the agriculture department at ASU-Beebe.
Doris Sue Whittaker Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Braelyn Martin from Heber Springs, a nursing major. The Doris Sue Waddle-Whittaker Scholarship was endowed in 2004 by the family as a memorial to the former student and nurse. The scholarship is awarded to a nursing major.
Dr. Dianne Tiner-Logan Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Pamila Helms from Drasco, a business major. The Dr. Dianne Tiner-Logan Endowment Scholarship honors the first vice chancellor of the ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus. Established to support sophomore students pursuing any major at Heber Springs, this scholarship celebrates Dr. Logan’s leadership and vision in expanding higher education opportunities in Cleburne County.
Dr. Judy McKay Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Katie Kennedy from Damascus, a Veterinary Technology major, and Amira Copeland from Quitman, a business technology major. The scholarship was given in memory of Dr. Judy McKay, retired associate professor of English.
Dr. Hazel C. Dickey Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Ashley Melton from Romance, a business major. The Dr. Hazel C. Dickey Endowment Scholarship is given to a business major, and was established in honor of Dr. Hazel Dickey, retired chair of the business and agriculture departments at ASU-Beebe and advisor for Arkansas State University.
Dr. Ruth Couch Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Caitlin Cooper from Romance, an agriculture major; Charla Weatherley from Cabot, an agriculture business major; Grace Tustison from Carlisle, a health science major; Augustus Harris from Carlisle, an education major; Abigail Tustison from Carlisle, a liberal arts and sciences major; Kaden Ables from Austin, an agriculture major; Bryce Strassner from Austin, a liberal arts major; Paige Cluck from Rudy, an agriculture major; Catilyn Siler from Wilburn, a health science major; and Tarah Knabe from Heber Springs, a fine arts major. The scholarship was established by the late Dr. Ruth L. Couch, emeritus professor of English and former vice chancellor for Academic Affairs.
E. H. “Doc” and Ruth Abington Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Kayla Mobley from Searcy, a business major. The E.H. “Doc” and Ruth Abington Scholarship was established in 1999 to further the education of students in the community.
England Challenge Scholarship was awarded to Braylon Rainey from Jacksonville, an education major. The scholarship was endowed in 1996 by the late Walter England, emeritus associate professor of education and former ASU-Beebe Dean, to benefit students pursuing a career in teaching.
Evelyn Ramer Stair Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Shandin Connelly from Pangburn, a pre-health care studies major. The scholarship, established by the Stair family, is dedicated to assisting a student from Cleburne County. The scholarship is tailored for those majoring in liberal arts and sciences.
First Community Bank Scholarship was awarded to Natalie Hixon from Lonoke, a business technology major. The scholarship provides financial assistance to ASU-Beebe students who are pursuing higher education and making a positive impact in their communities.
The First Community Bank Scholarship embodies the values that have defined First Community Bank since its founding in 1997: community, people and service first.
Gerald "Jerry" Smith Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Abigail Walker from Heber Springs, a liberal arts and sciences major. The scholarship was established by the late Gerald “Jerry” Smith, a first-generation student, and supports students pursuing a degree or certificate at ASU-Beebe Heber Springs. Eligible recipients must be enrolled part- or full-time at the Heber Springs campus and reside in Rose Bud or Cleburne County.
James C. Beard Family Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Madison Scott from Quitman, and Nathaniel Ingram from Searcy, both majoring in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. The scholarship was established by the late Wilma Beard, longtime chair of the English and Fine Arts Division, in memory of her husband, James Beard.
Jeannie Myers Lindsey Scholarship was awarded to Alaina Fields from Cabot, a health science major. The scholarship was established by Jeannie Lindsey, a former division chair of the physical education and social science departments, who retired in 2002 after 37 years at ASU-Beebe.
Judd Hill Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Bathesheba McCall from Little Rock, a nursing major. The scholarship was established in 2016 by Mike Gibson, a trustee of the Judd Hill Foundation and former chairman of the ASU Board of Trustee and supports ASU-Beebe students majoring in health professions or agriculture at the Heber Springs campus. Founded in 1985 by Esther Chapin, the Judd Hill Foundation continues her vision of advancing agriculture and healthcare in Arkansas through research, innovation, and education.
Larry Sims Agriculture Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Ian Price from Bryant, an agriculture major. The scholarship was established by Marchia Sims, retired ASU-Beebe employee, in memory of her husband Larry Sims, who was a longtime employee of the Arkansas Plant Board.
Leon and Virginia Shanack Endowment Scholarship to Chloe Coe from Jacksonville, a criminal justice major. The Leon and Virginia Shanack Scholarship was established by a former employee at ASU-Beebe in honor of her parents.
Leon Morris “Grit to Graduate” Scholarship was awarded was awarded to Jeremy Trotter from Jacksonville, a criminal justice major. The scholarship honors the enduring legacy of Leon Morris—a proud veteran, devoted father, and firm believer in the power of perseverance. This scholarship supports students who have demonstrated exceptional grit: the courage, resolve, and determination to continue their educational journey despite adversity.
Lillian and Mark Barnett Family Scholarship was awarded to Shelby House from Heber Springs, a health science major. The scholarship honors the Barnett family of Heber Springs for their long-standing commitment to the Cleburne County community and its history. Established to support future generations of students at the ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus, the scholarship is awarded to a Heber Springs High School graduate, with preference given to those pursuing degrees in education or healthcare.
Linda Jo Welch Memorial Endowment Scholarship for Spring 2026 was awarded to Jackson Potter from Austin, a business major. The Linda Jo Welch Scholarship was named in memory of the late Linda Jo Welch, who was a business instructor at ASU-Beebe at the time of her death. This scholarship is to benefit an ASU-Beebe student majoring in business.
Marvin and Geraldine Speight Educational Scholarship was awarded to Sawyer Vallance from Vilonia, a liberal arts and sciences major. The Marvin and Geraldine Speight Educational Scholarship was established in 2016 by Arkansas Community Foundation in honor of longtime ASU-Beebe basketball coach and education professor Coach Marvin Speight.
Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Candess Whitaker from Hot Springs, a Medical Laboratory Technology major, and Lydia Phillps from Conway, a health science major. The Memorial Scholarships were established in memory of ASU-Beebe faculty members.
Millan and Kathryn Burrow Leadership Scholarship was awarded to Reid Brafford from Shirley, a theatre major. The scholarship pays tribute to Millan and Kathryn Burrow’s legacy of service. Millan, a respected pharmacist and community leader, founded Burrow’s Drug Store in 1966, serving the Beebe community for decades.
Resident Student Scholarship was awarded to Makaylen Crabb from Redfield, an agriculture major. The Resident Student Scholarship is given to a student living on campus and is based on academic achievement and campus involvement.
Robin Hayes Inspirational Achievement Scholarship in Business was awarded to Altin Parker from Quitman, a business technology major. The Robin Hayes Inspirational Achievement Scholarship is given to a business major and was established in honor of Robin Hayes, retired ASU-Beebe Director of Admissions.
Robin Hayes Inspirational Achievement Scholarship in Health Science was awarded to Sarah Burroughs from Beebe, a health science major. The Robin Hayes Inspirational Achievement Scholarship is given to a health science major and was established in honor of Robin Hayes, retired ASU-Beebe Director of Admissions.
Ronnie Eugene Davis Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Rashi Patel from Beebe, a liberal arts and sciences major. The scholarship is provided to a student from Beebe High School, who is pursuing education at ASU-Beebe. The Ronnie Eugene Davis Memorial Scholarship was established in 2023 and pays tribute to his memory and commitment of supporting local students on their academic journey.
R.V. Powell Memorial Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Abigail Ralston from Enola and Katelyn Wiley from Griffithville, both agriculture majors. The R.V. Powell Scholarship was established in memory of R.V. Powell, a longtime local businessman and friend of ASU-Beebe.
Saint Jean Scholarship was awarded to Katelynn Elliott from Heber Springs, a liberal arts and sciences major. The scholarship was established by Saint Jean Industries, a global leader in lightweight aluminum and magnesium casting and machining solutions. With a facility in Heber Springs, Saint Jean is dedicated to innovation in the automotive and industrial sectors while investing in the local community. This scholarship is available to current employees of Saint Jean–Heber Springs or their children who attend the ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus.
Searcy General Scholarship was awarded to Kayla Kimble from Cabot, a nursing major. The scholarship was established to support students enrolled at the Searcy campus, majoring in certificate or degree programs.
SGT Jason M. Swindle Veterans Legacy Scholarship was awarded to Jennifer Ablan from North Little Rock, a business technology major. The scholarship pays tribute to the heroism of SGT Swindle, who lost his life in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan in 2012. The scholarship provides financial assistance and mentorship to military veterans and their families, helping them pursue higher education and transition from military to civilian life.
Spradlin Family Scholarship was awarded to Annabelle Cross from Beebe, a business major. The Spradlin Family Scholarship is available to a high school graduating senior, who plans to attend ASU-Beebe and major in math and science related courses.
Steven Storm Memorial Scholarship was awarded to James ‘Tyler’ Jennings from Heber Springs, a business major. The scholarship honors the legacy of Steve Storm, the first math and science instructor at ASU-Beebe’s Heber Springs campus. Established by his family in 2011, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in math or science. Storm’s commitment to education extended beyond the classroom—he helped launch online courses, mentored countless students, and played a key role in shaping the campus community.
Teddy Davis Educational Scholarship was awarded to Caden Sample from Searcy, a health science major. The Teddy Davis Educational Scholarship is given to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. The scholarship was established to honor Davis’ 41 years of dedicated service to ASU-Beebe, where she was an alumna and lifelong educator, serving in numerous teaching and leadership roles.
Uncharted Magazine Writing & Art Student Scholarship was awarded to Hunter Heifner from Lonoke, a liberal arts and sciences major. Inspired by the ASU-Beebe’s literary arts magazine “Uncharted,” the scholarship is awarded to individuals who demonstrate talent and dedication in areas such as poetry, prose, art and photography.
Veterinary Technology Scholarship was awarded to Emma Anderson from Alborn, Minnesota, a veterinary technology major. The Veterinary Technology Scholarship is provided by the Veterinary Technology Foundation. The veterinary technician program prepares students to assist licensed veterinarians in providing healthcare services.
W. H. Owen Jr. Memorial Endowment Scholarship was awarded to Mikhala Owen from Rose Bud, a health science major. The scholarship is available for sophomores pursuing any degree at ASU-Beebe. The W.H. Owen Jr. Memorial Endowment Scholarship was established in memory of former ASU-Beebe chancellor W. H. Owen Jr., who served from 1981 to 1994. The Owen Center was named in his honor.
