ASU-Beebe is pleased to announce Michelle Gray as the new chief financial officer and vice chancellor for finance and administration.
Gray brings a wealth of experience in finance, healthcare, and leadership to her new role as CFO. She began her career in finance in 2006 as a business manager at Ozarka College and later stepped into the role of interim vice president for finance. In 2012, she transitioned into healthcare, serving as a clinic administrator for Gray Family Practice.
While serving as a state representative from 2015-2022, Gray continued her work in the financial side of the medical field as Executive Director of Practice Transformation and Clinical Surgical Services at White River Health System. Most recently, she led operations as the Arkansas market leader for A First Name Basis Home Care.
Her passion for community colleges is personal. Gray shared that she witnessed their life-changing impact when her son completed an aviation program at a local community college — a key step toward his current role as a commercial pilot and flight instructor.
“I have a heart for higher education, community colleges specifically, and the mission they strive to
attain,” Gray said.
Gray holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and is a graduate of several respected leadership programs, including the Arkansas Community Colleges’ Higher Education Leadership Institute and the Center for Advancement of Leadership Skills through the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS).
“We are excited to welcome Michelle to ASU-Beebe. She brings not only an extensive knowledge and experience in financial leadership, but she shares a passion for our mission of transforming lives,” said Dr. Jennifer Methvin, chancellor of ASU-Beebe.
As chief financial officer, Gray will oversee key financial operations of the college, including procurement, cashiering, business management, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and facilities operations.
“ASU-Beebe has such a wide variety of degrees and certificates, and they provide an avenue for students to achieve their goals, while remaining close to home and part of their community,” Gray said. “For some, higher education might not be an option without a community college such as ASU-Beebe.”
