Instructor Earns Elite National HVACR Credential
Posted Date: 11/3/25

ASU–Beebe proudly announces that Brad J. Cooper, advanced instructor in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) at the Searcy campus, has earned the prestigious Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE) credential from HVAC Excellence, a distinction held by only 159 individuals nationwide and just three in the state of Arkansas.

The certification recognizes mastery in both HVACR technical knowledge and instructional excellence, positioning ASU-Beebe as a statewide leader in trades education.

“This certification isn’t just a personal milestone—it’s a promise to my students. It means they’re learning from someone who’s been vetted at the highest level, both technically and academically, Cooper said. “In a field where precision and safety matters, trust is everything. The CMHE helps me better prepare students for real-world careers, not just exams. It’s about legacy, integrity, and giving them every advantage I can.”

Cooper leads hands-on HVACR training and curriculum development at ASU-Beebe’s Searcy campus, where students graduate with stackable industry credentials and real-world readiness.

Under Cooper’s leadership, the program has expanded to include a newly developed HVACR curriculum, which enables students to earn a certificate of proficiency or a technical certificate, integrating ground source heat pump training and measureQuick diagnostics into the course design, which connects students with cutting-edge tools and mentorship.

Cooper recently received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Supervision at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in higher education. His teaching philosophy blends technical rigor with humor, storytelling, and cultural awareness—reflecting his deep commitment to inclusive advising and servant leadership.

Cooper also contributes part-time to the HVAC School in Florida, authors and co-authors technical blogs for Kalos Services, guest-hosts podcasts, and presents at national events, such as the HVAC School Symposium. He also serves as an official instructor for the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and is a measureQuick trainer. His work with the Arkansas HVACR Association and the Arkansas Instructors Council is helping to shape a statewide apprenticeship model and transferable associate degree framework for HVACR education.
