Posted Date: 3/31/26

Dr. Kayla Sapkota, online associate professor of business at Arkansas State University-Beebe, has been named the recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award by the Association for Business Communication–Southwest (ABC-SW) during the Federation of Business Disciplines (FBD) conference held in Richardson, Texas.

Sapkota, a member of ABC-SW since 2017, was nominated by her peers and recognized at the organization’s awards banquet. The ABC-SW region includes universities across Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

“Being involved in a professional organization has been such a rewarding experience,” Sapkota said. “ABC-SW has given me a wonderful community of practitioners who help me keep up with emerging issues and best practices, while also offering a space to share my own ideas and research. It has contributed to my growth as an educator. I’m very honored to receive this award.”

Dr. Blake Perkins, vice chancellor for academics at ASU-Beebe, said Sapkota’s recognition reflects both her dedication to students and her engagement in the broader academic community.

“Dr. Sapkota exemplifies the quality and commitment we strive for in our faculty,” Perkins said. “Her passion for teaching and continuous professional growth directly benefits our students and strengthens the learning environment at ASU-Beebe. We are proud to see her recognized among educators across the region.”

Arkansas State University-Beebe, the state’s oldest two-year college, serves students across campuses in Beebe, Searcy, Heber Springs and at the Little Rock Air Force Base, as well as through a wide range of online programs.
