ASU-Beebe Offers Free Precision Agriculture Courses

ASU-Beebe and the Office of Workforce and Community Development have announced upcoming courses in conjunction with the ASU-Beebe Center for Precision Agriculture. The classes are open to the public and are free.
 
Geographic information systems and introduction to drones are designed for the average user and are of particular interest to agriculture producers, outdoor enthusiasts, urban planners, and elected officials.
 
Geographic information systems will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the ASU-Beebe farm, located at 1405 West Center Street in Beebe. The class will be an introductory course on geographic information systems and will focus on how to use free data to enhance everyday life experiences. Introduction to drones will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10 at the ASU-Beebe farm, located at 1405 West Center Street in Beebe. The class will focus on the benefits of drones, as well as maximizing and enhancing the drone experience.  Additionally, topics of discussion will be types of drones, how to interrupt data, and legal and licensing requirements in flying a drone. Additionally, the classes will be taught by Kendall Casey, master instructor of computer aided drafting and design, and Keith Perkins, instructor of precision agriculture.
