Janet McGregor Liles, director and advanced instructor of the pharmacy technician science program and director of allied health at Arkansas State University-Beebe recently received the 2026 American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Board of Directors’ Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award.
“Ms. McGregor Liles is a highly respected pharmacy technician, educator, mentor, and advocate,” said Rachael A. McGarry, director of member engagement at ASHP. “Her transformational leadership and dedication to advancing pharmacy practice through technician integration, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based education has elevated how pharmacy technicians contribute to modern healthcare delivery and created lasting change benefiting the whole pharmacy workforce and the patients they serve.”
The Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award recognizes and honors pharmacy technicians who have made significant contributions to excellence in the role of pharmacy technicians, advancement of the pharmacy technician workforce, and advancement of pharmacy practice.
“Janet is a multi-talented leader, not only in pharmacy technician science but across all areas of healthcare education,” said Dr. Joseph Scott, dean of the Division of Math and Science at ASU-Beebe. “As director of allied health, she supports multiple health profession programs and plays a vital role in their success. She has mentored numerous pre-pharmacy students, guiding them through the challenges and coursework required to become successful pharmacy students and, ultimately, pharmacists. Janet is truly a cornerstone of healthcare education at our institution.”
Liles will be presented with the Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award in December at the ASHP 61st Midyear Clinical Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
