Posted Date: 8/20/25

ASU-Beebe Emergency Medical Services received scholarships and awards at the recent Arkansas Emergency Medical Services conference held in Hot Springs.
Catilyn Siler and Carl Alford were each awarded scholarships from the Arkansas EMS Foundation. Siler received the Becky O’Bar Paramedic Memorial Scholarship and Carl Alford received the David A. Taylor, Sr. Paramedic Memorial Scholarship.
Additionally, ASU-Beebe EMS adjunct instructor, Josh Rainbolt, was voted EMS Instructor of the Year. Rainbolt is a 1996 graduate of the ASU-Beebe allied health program and has taught paramedics for five years.
“We are so very proud of our students and faculty member in receiving these honors,” said Dr. Joseph Scott, dean of the math and science division. “We appreciate the EMS foundation for making these scholarships available to help students achieve success toward careers as EMTs and paramedics. We also congratulate Josh in receiving this award, which is a testament to his excellence in instruction in the paramedic program.”
ASU-Beebe’s emergency medical services (EMS) program offers emergency medical technician (EMT), advanced emergency medical technician (AEMT) and paramedic training. The coursework prepares students to take the national licensure exam (NREMT) and begin or continue careers in emergency medical services.
The program prepares students for careers, such as ambulance and fire services, emergency departments, helicopter EMS, disaster and wilderness medicine and urgent care clinics. Emergency medical technicians and paramedics earn a competitive salary in a fast-growing industry.
