"Peter Pan” is an ASU-Beebe student written adaptation of the storybook by Sir James M. Barrie. The story of the "Boy who never grows up" has captivated audiences, bringing the timeless story of adventure, imagination, and childhood wonder to life on stage.
The production opens in the Darling home, where the Lost Boys serve as narrators of Wendy's meeting of Peter Pan, who visits to hear her mother’s stories. Wanting to bring Wendy to Neverland to be a mother to the Lost Boys, Peter takes Wendy, John, and Michael Darling on a magical journey with the help of his fairy, Tinkerbell.
Their adventures take them through the clouds and stars, seas and space, and a sword fight or two with the villainous Captain Hook.
In the end, the Darling children return home, forever changed by their adventure, while Peter Pan and Tinkerbell return to Neverland, unchanged and forever young, returning now and then to hear stories.
“We are excited to invite you to our spring show,” said Hope Hargrove, director of theatre. “The magic of this story has captivated audiences of all ages for years with its unforgettable characters and thrilling adventures, demonstrating the power of imagination. You won't want to miss this original production of the beloved children's book.”
