Sadie Bomar has served as the ASU-Beebe Marketing Department student worker this fall and is a freshman, business major. “I want to own a store in the future, so having a business degree would definitely be useful,” said Bomar.
Bomar is from Vilonia, where she lives with her parents Michael and Edie Bomar and sisters Stella and Sarah, as well as her dog Prissy. She attended Vilonia High School and was active in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, swim team, and the high school band, where she played the saxophone and was a member of the color guard and quiz bowl team.
“I chose ASU-Beebe because it was a great option to entering college. It was close to home and less expensive than other colleges.”
So far, Bomar has taken classes in sociology, freshman English II, world civilization since 1660, biology, and principles of academic success. “I really enjoy all of my classes. This gets me closer to one day owning my own store that offers accessible clothing options.”
Bomar is active in her church’s college ministry program and she takes classes in Maumelle for aerial arts using silks.
Bomar is also passionate about neurodivergent and disability acceptance. She said neurodivergent is an umbrella term for several neuro type diagnoses. She said her parents have encouraged her to attend college and are her inspiration. “My mother is a teacher and my dad a mechanical engineer. They have been my role models to pursue my education.”
When asked about advice for students considering college, Bomar said: “Apply for every single scholarship that even remotely applies to you. Fill out your FAFSA as soon as you can. Remember to still take some time for yourself.
