Colere Saxophone Quartet Concert Set for Nov. 28

The Arkansas State University-Beebe department of music will present a concert by the Colere Saxophone Quartet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28 in the Science Building Lecture Hall on the Beebe campus, located at 300 Peach Street. The concert is free and open to the public. 

The Colere Quartet is comprised of John Cummins, Elissa Kana, Greg Rife and Dennis Kwok. Gold medalists of the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and first-prize winners of the 2019 Plowman Chamber Music Competition, the members of Colere strive for purity of sound and flexibility of style, and they awaken the sensibilities of their audiences to the magic of classical and contemporary music. 

Recent activity includes an appearance on 98.7 WFMT Chicago, recitals at the Illinois Music Education Conference, VanderCook College of Music, University of Northern Iowa and Lewis University, as well as appearances at a variety of community and educational concerts.

ASU-Beebe is the only two-year college in central Arkansas that offers an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree. The AFA degree has an emphasis in vocal music, instrumental music, theater or graphic design. This degree is a comprehensive two-year curriculum designed specifically for transfer toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The AFA creative arts enterprise emphasis prepares students to enter the workforce with an associate degree.
