Arkansas State University-Beebe recently welcomed Dr. Charles Majors as Dean of Learning and Assessment.
Majors recently served as the interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Academics at Central Baptist College in Conway, where he also was the institution's Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO). Prior to his roles at CBC, he was the Instructional Design and Quality Matters Coordinator at Arkansas Tech University and taught English at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville and Arkansas Tech University.
"We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Majors join our academic leadership team,” said Dr. Blake Perkins, Vice Chancellor for Academics. “He brings a wealth of expertise and leadership in curriculum development, mapping and alignment, best teaching practices, quality assurance, educational technology, student learning assessment, and accreditation.”
Majors earned a bachelor’s degree in professional studies and a master’s degree in English at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and a doctorate degree in English at Murray State University in Kentucky.
“My favorite experiences in teaching have been at the community college level, and I’m excited to return to that environment, especially given the robust opportunities afforded to students,” Majors said. “I am also energized by the opportunity to support faculty excellence, and I am motivated by ASU-Beebe’s commitment to strengthen enrollment and expand programs to elevate student success.”
