ASU-Beebe John Deere Agriculture Technology Scholarships Awarded

ASU-Beebe students in the John Deere agriculture equipment technology program recently received scholarships from John Deere dealers. 

Those receiving scholarships were Chad Fiebig, Cecil Jacob Thomlinson and Lando Newton from Greenway Equipment and Cade Guidry from Sunshine Quality Solutions.

“These scholarships can be used to purchase tools and equipment needed to start their careers this summer as full-time John Deere technicians,” said Jake Selvidge, director and advanced instructor for the ASU-Beebe John Deere agriculture equipment technology program.

Representing Greenway Equipment at the event were Tommy Hall, Cortne Young and Jon Tucker, and representing Sunshine Quality Solutions were Phillip Richard and Kendle Kibodeaux. Also in attendance were Dr. Robin Myers, ASU System interim president, Dr. Jennifer Methvin, ASU-Beebe chancellor, Dr. Jason Goodner, vice chancellor for academics, Thomas Hillman, instructor of agriculture technology, Tony Diflorio, instructor of agriculture technology, Andrea Cole, development officer/major gifts, and Chloe Johnson, administrative specialist for the career education division.

The John Deere agriculture equipment technology program is designed to prepare students to excel as technicians in the high-tech, fast-paced field of agricultural mechanization. Students who complete the two-year program are awarded an Associate of Applied Science in agriculture equipment technology.
