ASU-Beebe Introduces New Tuition Calculator and Simplified Tiered Tuition Model in 2026-27 Viewbook
Posted Date: 7/7/26

Arkansas State University-Beebe has unveiled its 2026-2027 viewbook, featuring a new tuition calculator designed to help prospective students and their families better understand college costs under a simplified tiered tuition model that takes effect beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.

The new calculator reflects ASU-Beebe's updated tuition structure, which aligns tuition rates with the resources required for different types of courses while maintaining the college's longstanding commitment to affordability, transparency, and student success.

"We are excited to introduce this new tuition calculator as another way to help students make informed decisions about their future," said Michelle Gray, vice chancellor for finance and administration. "Planning for college is one of the biggest investments students and families make, and this tool provides a clearer picture of tuition costs based on a student's academic pathway."

The tiered tuition model recognizes that some courses require additional instructional resources, including laboratories, specialized equipment, technology, or hands-on training. By aligning tuition with these course requirements, the college can continue providing a high-quality educational experience while keeping costs competitive.

"Every student's educational journey is different," said Gray. "This model allows us to be more transparent about tuition while ensuring students continue to receive the resources and experiences needed to succeed in today's workforce."

The calculator allows students to estimate tuition costs based on their anticipated course schedule. Tuition and fee examples are based on a 16-credit-hour course load and illustrate how costs may vary depending on the types of courses selected.

Beginning in Fall 2026, tuition will be organized into three tiers:
  • Tier 1 – $145 per credit hour: Most general education courses, including mathematics, English, and history.
  • Tier 2 – $165 per credit hour: Courses that include laboratory components, such as science, music, and theatre.
  • Tier 3 – $185 per credit hour: Courses requiring specialized equipment or extensive hands-on instruction, including welding, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Veterinary Technology.
Sample tuition estimates featured in the calculator include:
  • General Student: 12 credit hours of Tier 1 courses and four credit hours of Tier 2 courses, plus double-room housing and meal plan ($3,450), for an estimated total of $5,850.
  • Career-Ready Student: Six credit hours of Tier 1 courses and 10 credit hours of Tier 3 courses, plus double-room housing and meal plan ($3,450), for an estimated total of $6,170
The tuition calculator is a planning tool to help students and families better understand tuition costs as they prepare for college. Explore the ASU-Beebe tuition calculator at the following link: https://www.asub.edu/tuition-calculator/.
