Arkansas State University–Beebe held a grand opening and donor appreciation event on August 13 to celebrate the renovated Centennial Bank Gymnasium, which now features the newly installed Jeannie Myers Lindsey Basketball Court, and the unveiling of the newly installed donor wall.
“We are excited to honor our generous donors who have made these renovations possible,” said Dr. Jennifer Methvin, ASU-Beebe chancellor. “The much-needed updates to the gymnasium allow us to better serve our communities and provide enhanced recreational and learning opportunities for our students.”
Speakers at the event included Centennial Bank Division President Corey Williams, who began the fundraising campaign with a $100,000 donation in early spring of 2023, and Jeannie Lindsey, for whom the basketball court was named in recognition of her 37-year career as a basketball coach at ASU-Beebe.
The restoration of the gymnasium featured the complete replacement of the outdated gym floor with a new maple wood sports surface, installed by Gym Masters Basketball Courts of Searcy.
