ASU-Beebe Alumni Association Names Board Members

"We are proud to announce the relaunch of the ASU-Beebe Alumni Association, a new opportunity for alumni to connect, celebrate and support the college and its students," said Charlotte Hall, alumni relations coordinator. “We are also excited to introduce our nine dedicated alumni, whose stories reflect leadership, service, and the lasting impact of an ASU–Beebe education. Together, they represent generations of graduates united by a shared commitment to giving back.”
The Alumni Association board members are Andy Hall, Lee Ann Burrow, Robin Hayes, Michael Westergren, Cheryl Cherry, Teddy Davis, Dr. Hazel Dickey, Bailey Pendergrass, and Steven Winchell.
“ASU-Beebe played a major role in shaping who I am today,” said Andy Hall, ASU- Beebe Alumni Association board president. “I am proud to give back by helping to strengthen connections between our alumni and the college.”
Andy Hall attended ASU-Beebe after graduating from Beebe High School in 2006, earning his associate degree in 2008 before completing a bachelor's degree through Arkansas State University programs offered on the Beebe campus. Hall serves as market president for First Security Bank in Beebe and remains committed to supporting his community and alma mater. A member of the ASU-Beebe Development Council, he is a strong advocate for higher education and the value of accessible, affordable pathways to student success.
Lee Ann Burrow serves as vice president of the ASU-Beebe Alumni Association. She graduated from ASU-Beebe in 1991 with an associate degree in social sciences before earning bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Central Arkansas. An educator and community leader, Burrow has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to student success alongside her husband, Todd, through service and support of scholarships, including the Leon Morris “GRIT to Graduate” Scholarship and the Millan and Kathryn Burrow Leadership Scholarship.
Robin Hayes serves as treasurer of the ASU-Beebe Alumni Association. A 1976 graduate of ASU-Beebe, Hayes retired in 2019 as director of admissions after 20 years of dedicated service helping students navigate the enrollment process. Throughout her career, she championed access to higher education and played a key role in welcoming generations of students to the college. She also served as president of the Arkansas College Personnel Association and state president of the Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. The Hayes family has further demonstrated its commitment to student success through the establishment of the R.V. Powell Memorial Scholarship and the Robin Hayes Inspirational Achievement Scholarship at ASU-Beebe. Hayes remains active in her community through service with the Shepherd's Center of Beebe and First United Methodist Church.
Michael Westergren serves as recorder of the ASU-Beebe Alumni Association. He earned an Associate of Arts in Teaching from ASU-Beebe in 2012 before completing his bachelor's degree at Arkansas State University. A 23-year U.S. Air Force veteran and former educator, Westergren has dedicated his career to service, leadership and advocacy. He previously served as state commander of the American Legion Department of Arkansas, where he championed veteran suicide prevention initiatives and training. Today, he continues to serve veterans nationwide as a national commander of the American Legion while remaining actively involved in civic and community organizations throughout Arkansas.
Cheryl Cherry, ASU-Beebe media specialist and learning center coordinator, earned her associate degree from ASU-Beebe in 2007 and has faithfully served students as a college employee since 1988. In addition to her work at ASU-Beebe, she serves as board chair of the White County Single Parent Scholarship Fund and secretary of the Arkansas Association on Higher Education and Disability. Cherry has also served as an adjunct faculty member for more than 20 years and previously served as president of the ASU-Beebe Staff Senate. Her commitment to service extends throughout the community, including 35 years as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, founding member of the Board of Directors of the White County Community Foundation, and leadership roles with Girl Scouts as a troop leader and member of the Regional Council Advisory Team.
Teddy Davis is a longtime educator and administrator who began her ASU-Beebe journey as a student in 1976. After earning her associate degree from ASU-Beebe, she completed bachelor's, master's and specialist degrees at Arkansas State University before returning to ASU-Beebe as an instructor in 1983. Over a 41-year career, Davis served as an instructor, division chair, program coordinator and dean of the Division of Arts and Humanities before retiring in 2024. She continues to support students and the college in a part-time advising role. The Teddy Davis Educational Scholarship was established in her honor to support future generations of ASU-Beebe students.
Dr. Hazel C. Dickey is a retired ASU-Beebe business professor whose dedication to education and student success has spanned more than five decades. During her 32-year career at ASU-Beebe, she served as an instructor, advisor and division chair, impacting the lives of countless students through her teaching and mentorship. Even after retirement, she continued to support students and the college through service and advocacy. Dr. Dickey currently serves on the ASU-Beebe Board of Visitors, Development Council and Alumni Board of Directors, and previously served as chairman of the ASU System Foundation Board. Her commitment to education is further reflected through the Dr. Hazel Dickey Scholarship Endowment, which continues to provide opportunities for future generations of ASU-Beebe students.
Bailey Pendergrass graduated from ASU-Beebe in 2021 before earning her bachelor's degree in elementary education through Arkansas State University programs offered at the University Center on the Beebe campus. As a student, she was a Distinguished Member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a Student Leadership Scholar and president of the Student Government Association. Pendergrass now serves as a fifth-grade math teacher at Wooster Elementary School in the Greenbrier School District and remains actively involved in her community through volunteer service with VIP student initiatives and the Little Dribblers Basketball Program. She proudly represents the next generation of ASU-Beebe alumni leaders dedicated to education and service.
Steven Winchell attended the ASU-Beebe Heber Springs campus and graduated in 2023. During his time at ASU-Beebe, he served as an officer in the inaugural Phi Theta Kappa chapter, helping lead the organization to its highest Five Star status. Winchell earned multiple academic honors, including being named the 2022 ASU-Beebe Academic All-Star. He also received the Steve Storm Foundation Scholarship and a regional collegiate scholarship from the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs through the TRIO Student Support Services program. In addition, he served as a guest speaker at campus events, encouraging and mentoring fellow students. Winchell is currently pursuing a degree in mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas.
Together, the board represents decades of leadership in education, business, military service, community engagement and philanthropy.
