ASU-Beebe Adjunct Instructor Awarded Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award
Posted Date: 3/26/24

Hope Ballard Presley, a pharmacy technician science instructor at Arkansas State University-Beebe, was recently awarded the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award.

Presley, who lives in Cookeville, Tennessee, is a Certified Pharmacy Technician and has served as an online adjunct professor for the pharmacy technician science program since January 2023. She is a former program director of technician education and training at Fortis Colleges and Institutes and currently works as a pharmacy technician at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

“Although she lives out of state, she does not let the geography keep her from connecting with students,” said Janet Liles, ASU-Beebe director of pharmacy technician science. “Presley has come to our campus to conduct lab sessions, she virtually tutors program students through Zoom, and she creates videos connecting real world experiences to content.  To say I am honored to call her a colleague is an understatement.”

The Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award states that “Presley is a respected pharmacy technician, educator, and leader. A tireless advocate for technician excellence, her vision and commitment to developing a highly skilled pharmacy technician workforce continues to enhance the professionalization of pharmacy technicians, elevate their role within the pharmacy team and advance the pharmacy profession.”

About the ASHP Pharmacy Excellence Award

ASHP members are invited, annually, to suggest nominees in writing with substantiating evidence. The award is intended to recognize an individual pharmacy technician for a recent singular, significant achievement or for career-long contributions.
