2023-2024 Performing Arts Season

Arkansas State University-Beebe is proud to announce its Performing Arts Season, offering a diverse lineup of events that promise to captivate audiences and celebrate the magic of the arts. Season tickets are now on sale at https://asub.ticketleap.com/, providing an exceptional opportunity to experience the rich cultural offerings of ASU-Beebe.     

The ASU-Beebe 2023-2024 Lecture-Concert Series will commence with The Suzie Glaze New Folk Ensemble on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at 7 p.m. in The Grove, located behind State Hall on the Beebe campus. Experience an extraordinary performance from this acclaimed Americana group that blends folk with exciting new Celtic-inspired originals.   

Gear up for the 2024 total solar eclipse and gain insights from special guest Mitzi Adams, NASA solar scientist from the Marshall Space Center, on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the Owen Center theater. Adams will present “The Sun, Space, Weather and Eclipses,” taking the audience on a journey through the wonders of our solar system.   

Kick off Halloween with a lecture about “The Iconic Monsters of Halloween” by Dr. Brent Bristow, professor of music, on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. in the ASU-Beebe Science Building Lecture Hall.    

The holiday festivities will begin with the community Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Nov 30. Starting at 2 p.m., attendees can enjoy a pottery sale in The Grove, which raises funds for the Student Emergency Hope Fund. The event features a visit from Santa Claus, crafts, refreshments, hayrides, holiday photos and entertainment. The main program begins at 5:30 p.m., featuring a greeting from ASU-Beebe Chancellor Dr. Jennifer Methvin, a special tree-lighting ceremony, a dazzling performance by Studio 360 dancers, and more surprises. The tree-lighting event is generously sponsored by Eoff & Associates Realty, Inc. and is free and open to the public.   

Then, prepare to be amazed by the electrifying performance of Cirque Zuma Zuma on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Owen Center theater.   

Experience an enchanting evening with former Disney Imagineer McNair Wilson on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Owen Center theater, as he shares inspiring stories of creativity and innovation from his time with Disney.   

The ASU-Beebe theatre department will present “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” from Nov. 2-5, 2023, and “Alice in Wonderland” from April 18-21, 2024, both in the Owen Center theater. Tickets for these theatre performances are priced at $5 each, and showtimes are listed at https://asub.ticketleap.com/.   

The ASU-Beebe band and choir concerts are a must-attend experience. The Symphonic Band concerts will be held on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, Thursday, March 7, 2024, and Thursday, April 25, 2024, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Owen Center theater. Equally captivating are the Singers and Chamber Singers concerts scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, and Monday, April 29, 2024, also taking place at 7:30 p.m. in the Owen Center theater.   

The Abington Library series will feature engaging events, including “Arkansas History in Songs & Stories” by Charley Sandage on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., “Ozark Dogs & Don’t Know Tough” by Eli Cranor on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., and “Arkansas Backstories, Volume One & Two” by Joe David Rice in November (date and time to be determined).   

The England Center Art Gallery will showcase inspiring exhibitions throughout the season. Fall 2023 will feature “Michael Shaeffer” in September, “Couples that Create: Fernandez” in October, and the “ASU-Beebe Student Show” in November. Spring 2024 will feature “Arshia Khan” in February, “Liz Koerner” in March and the “ASU-Beebe Student Show” in April. All England Center Art Gallery Shows and Abington Library Series events are free and open to the public.   

ASU-Beebe Performing Arts Series season passes for 2023-2024 are available at $30, providing access to a spectacular array of events. General admission tickets for individual performances are priced at $10, while tickets for educators, military personnel, K-12 students and seniors aged 60+ are $5. Tickets for all ASU-Beebe theater productions are priced at $5 each. ASU-Beebe students, employees, and emeritus enjoy complimentary admission to all events upon presenting a valid identification.
