Characters from the Diviners stage production

ASU-Beebe's Theater students practice their craft with several stage shows each semester

The Theatre Department administers the Associate of Fine Arts in Theatre degree program, which offers a variety of theatre and communication coursework.

These courses and practical experiences with the craft of theatre will enrich your academic, professional, and cultural life.  Emphasis is given to the development of an abstract, critical and societal appreciation for the human experience.  You may take advantage of these opportunities through enrollment in departmental courses or through participation in the co-curricular theatre productions.

Students pursuing the Associate of Fine Arts in Theatre receive in-depth coursework in performance or technical and design aspects. We offer courses that prepare you for a career in theatre or for transfer to a university theatre program.

The national honorary dramatics fraternity for two-year institutions is composed of students who have made outstanding contributions to the dramatic activities of ASU-Beebe.  The purpose of the fraternity is to stimulate interest in dramatic activities on the campus and to reward outstanding achievements in the field.

The Department of Fine Arts includes three areas: Art, Music, and Speech and Theatre. Each, though a separate unit, complements the others.   The Department of Fine Arts is primarily a place to learn. It also serves the campus, the community, and the state by providing artistic, cultural, and educational leadership. Basically, it is concerned with providing opportunities and encouragement for students to develop inherent talents and capacities. It also enables the students to put into practice techniques learned in the classroom.

Participation in classes and programs in the three areas is open to all students. All students are encouraged to embrace these opportunities in order to give dynamic meaning to their developing aesthetic experiences and to develop the whole person.
