Executive Summary

The Information Technology Services (ITS) department at Arkansas State University-Beebe provides a list of all active projects for each Academic year (AY). In an effort to increase efficiency and foster transparency, all ITS projects are organized into one of four categories; a detailed description of each, including how each project links to and supports the fulfillment of ASU-Beebe’s Strategic Goals, is provided below.

 

Description:  Implement software to protect against viruses, or attacks meant to damage computers and/or network

Description: Implement software to store login information for all websites used and allow automatic login with an encrypted master password

Description: Upgrade obsolete technology with a new phone system that will provide new features, application integration, mobility, and scalability

Description: Improve resource utilization by providing a unified integrated operating platform for users to access application off campus

This project supports each strategic goal similarly by providing a stable network and data environment allowing for:

  • (SG #1) Strong from the Start - Access to information and support services by students, faculty, and staff.
  • (SG #2) P32B1 - The resources needed to offer professional development opportunities and to assist in cultivating a culture of financial investment.
  • (SG #3) ASUBe Connected - Resources necessary to assist in preparing students to enter and compete in the economy as well as the resources required to connect with workforce, industry, and community partners.

  • (SG #1) To administer the College's learning management systems allowing for a user-friendly experience.
  • (SG #2) To improve the college's course/lecture capture and delivery applications and systems.

Description: Provide additional Zoom equipment to help engage students, faculty, and staff for learning, collaboration, and administration, while also providing expanded access for virtual classes

This project supports each strategic goal similarly by providing a stable network and data environment allowing for:

Description: Replace computers in the computer labs to provide further access to computer equipment that enhances the learning environment and enables efficient College practices

Description: Replace employee desktop computers with laptops to allow network access through the VPN and allow employees to work remotely, should it ever be needed

These short-term classes are usually offered at night, weekends, or online and are designed to enhance personal or professional skills. 

Community Education

The Continuing Education/Workforce Development Department at ASU-Beebe sponsors numerous non-credit classes that are designed to meet the needs of the general public and business workforce.

Advanced Programs

Through a partnership between A-State and ASUB, students may earn baccalaureate degrees from Arkansas State University by taking coursework at the Degree Center on the Beebe campus.
