The Vanguard is an ASU-Beebe annual community report that has been published since 1995. The name pays tribute to the first newspaper on campus, which started publishing around 1951. A vanguard is defined as ‘a group of people leading the way to new developments or ideas.’ In April 2015, ASU-Beebe chose Vanguard as the official mascot. Vanguard has a special meaning for ASU-Beebe students, faculty, and staff as it represents the college’s passion for ‘leading the charge’ in education.
