Marketing and Public Relations

Welcome

Marketing and Public Relations strives to promote and communicate internal and external information for all the campus locations at Beebe, Heber Springs, Searcy, LRAFB, and online.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Marketing and Public Relations is to disseminate accurate and complete information in a timely manner to all internal and external stakeholders of ASU-Beebe, which includes students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, donors, media groups, and the general public in communities where we have campus locations.

Under the direction of Institutional Advancement, Marketing and Public Relations incorporates the following activities:
  • marketing and advertising
  • public relations
  • brand management
  • social media coordination
  • media relations
  • merchandising
  • graphic design
  • multi-media

The distribution list for news releases contains email addresses representing media outlets for the state newspaper and area daily and weekly newspapers, as well as radio stations, television stations, special publications, magazines, and area chambers of commerce.

Marketing and Public Relations stays up to date on deadlines and understands how the media needs to receive news.

Additionally, we've been given the task to distribute news releases which contain detailed information in a format that follows the guidelines of Associated Press (AP) style. To ensure quality and thoroughness, we ask for two weeks notice to process a news release.

While this may seem like a long time, it is needed to provide well written, thorough news releases along with high resolution professional photographs.

Once we have all the information necessary, we'll process the release and distribute to the news media. Distribution of the release will be coordinated based on the other releases in the pipeline and deadlines, if the news release is "event" specific.

News releases will also be posted on the website under the News drop-down menu on the front page.

ASU-Beebe has Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn profiles, which are maintained and updated by the Marketing staff. These sites serve as vital communication and as a promotional tool for ASU-Beebe and its campuses.

As set forth by a directive from the ASU System, the Marketing staff is to manage and execute social media, which means posting of content for anything relating to ASU-Beebe or its campuses as "official communication on behalf of the college."  http://www.Facebook.com/ASUBeebe  or  http://www.Twitter.com/asubeebe.

Please allow two days for posting on social media, and send your requests to pr@asub.edu

Marketing and PR oversees and directs all advertising, which must be approved by the director. Three weeks advance notice is required for any advertising requests to ensure the appropriate design, style and layout, as well as budget considerations and timed placement in the media. Send requests to pr@asub.edu. We will respond with questions and/or comments as to the content, size and placement.
