The power sports technology program trains students to repair and maintain vehicles such as powerboats, motorcycles, ATVs and outdoor power equipment. A growing interest in ATVs and motorcycles has increased demand for professionals who can repair, maintain and service these power sports vehicles. 

Program Outcomes

  • Fuel Systems - Students will be able to diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel-injected systems. 
  • Maintenance - Students will be able to conduct proper maintenance of the various recreational vehicles used in this industry. 
  • Four-Cycle Engines - Students will be able to diagnose and repair various parts of a four-cycle engine and their functions.
  • Drive Trains - Students will be able to diagnose and repair different types of transmissions: chain-driven, belt driven and gear-driven transmissions.
  • Frames, Suspensions and Brakes - Students will be able to diagnose and repair specially designed frames, suspensions and brakes.
  • Two-Cycle and Electric Engines - Students will be able to diagnose and repair two-cycle engines and electrically powered recreational vehicles.
  • Marine - Students will be able to diagnose and repair fuel systems, the power head and the lower units of an outboard motor.
