Medication Assistant Certified

The medication assistant program is an eight-week course emphasizing medication administration within the long-term care setting. Medication assistant students must have a minimum of one year’s experience in a long-term care setting and be in good standing with the Office of Long Care for course enrollment.  

Program Outcomes

  • Incorporate the roles and responsibilities within the scope of practice, including ethics, communication and legal responsibilities.  
  • Demonstrate professional behaviors consistent with the professional role within the long-term care setting. 
  • Demonstrate competence and proficiency in medication administration procedures.
