The Associate of Science in Education is a two-year degree that prepares students for admission into a four-year K-6 and 4-8 teacher education program or to work in schools as paraprofessionals.

Understand the foundation of the education system in the United States and the state of Arkansas.
Fulfill ethics in teaching and federal and state laws regarding education.
Develop and demonstrate the knowledge, pedagogical skills, and professional dispositions necessary to help all students learn.
Comprehend environmental and hereditary effects on cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and social-linguistic development of typically and atypically developing children from conception to middle childhood of diverse cultural backgrounds within and outside the United States.
Observe and evaluate children's development and recognize developmental delays.
Create strategies to differentiate instruction to meet all student's learning needs.
Comply with laws pertaining to disabled children and special accommodations that education facilities are required to make according to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Obtain a sound liberal arts education to transition into a bachelor's degree in Teacher Education Program.
