The Associate of Applied Science in Computer Systems and Networking Technology degree prepares students to complete nationally recognized professional certifications in the following areas:
Computer Systems and Networking Technology is a hands-on approach to teaching PC/Networking and Computer Hardware/Software. This program offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science, with a Technical Certificate and Certificate of Proficiency being offered after the completion of the first year. Emphasis is not only placed on the hardware skills of computer systems, but also on the soft skills (written and verbal communications) that business and industry are demanding of their employees. A CSNT graduate will have the skills to: design, install, configure and support Microsoft Windows 20XX Server for local, national and global businesses. Upgrade, repair and maintain computer hardware and software. Configure and maintain current operating systems such as Windows Server 20XX, Windows 7 and higher, Linuxas and virtual systems, secure a networked environment and complete basic computer forensics investigations. Students who complete this degree will be prepared to sit for nationally recognized certification exams such as the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Network + and PC Pro. A student may also decide to continue their education in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Technology which is offered right here on the ASU-Beebe Campus. Our graduates can expect to work in professional work environments ranging from PC consulting firms, large multi-national companies or small family-owned businesses.

CompTIA's (Computing Technology Industry Association) A+ certification is an entry level certification for computer hardware/software, but also in Windows 9X/20XX/XP and customer service.
The Network+ indicates the candidate possesses the knowledge needed to configure and install the TCP/IP client.
Earning the CompTIA Linux+ designation means that the candidate can explain fundamental management of Linux systems for the command line, demonstrate knowledge of user administration, understand file permissions/software configurations and manage local storage devices and network protocols.
The Security+ covers industry-wide topics, including communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, access control, authentication, and operational security.
