The State of Arkansas requires a person working in the plumbing field must either have a journeyman or master plumber license or be enrolled in an approved plumbing apprenticeship program working toward that goal.
At ASUB Heber Springs, we offer a four-year Plumbing Apprenticeship program designed for those working in the plumbing field and interested in obtaining a plumbing journeyman's license. Our courses are taught by instructors with years of combined experience in the field and in the classroom based on a program designed by the Heber Springs Plumbing Apprenticeship Committee with approval by the Arkansas Department of Career Education State Apprenticeship Office. We can boast that our passing rate is 99% when the rest of the state is an average of 48%. We are the only school in the state of Arkansas that can boast that fact.
To qualify for the plumbing apprenticeship program, students must be employed by a master plumber and gaining 2000 on-the-job training hours per year. Once employed under the supervision of a master plumber, a student has thirty (30) days to enroll in a state approved apprenticeship program.
