CLEP Exam FAQs
What is CLEP?
College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) is an exam that gives you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on an exam.
Who is eligible to take the CLEP?
Anyone with acquired knowledge through independent study, prior course work, on-the-job training, professional development, cultural pursuits, or internships.
How much does the exam cost?
The CLEP test fee is $80. This fee is paid on the day of the test. Check, money order, credit or debit card only. Cash is NOT accepted. (Checks should be made payable to CLEP).
A Service Fee of $25 is paid at the Cashier's Window in State Hall (1st floor) for examinees not currently enrolled at ASUB during the semester a CLEP exam is administered. You must bring your pink receipt on the day of your test. No receipt, No test.
When is the exam offered?
Examinees must call 501-882-8906 to inquire about the testing schedule.
In the event of inclement weather, such as snow, freezing rain, or sleet that may make travel on roads hazardous, examinees are advised to check ASU-Beebe's website at www.asub.edu, or tune in to the following media stations for early notifications: Searcy's KWCK (99.9), KSMD (99.1), or KEAZ (100.7); Batesville's KWOZ (103.3); and TV Channels 4, 7, or 11.
How can I register for this exam?
Examinees must complete a CLEP registration form by going to the CollegeBoard website or visiting the Testing Center (Owen Center Room 146) prior to testing.
What time should I arrive to the testing location?
Students should arrive 15 minutes early for the exam. The test will begin promptly at the scheduled time. If examinees are not in the testing room (Owen Center Room 146), he/she will not be allowed to test.
What is the test center code?
The CLEP center number/college code is needed in completing the registration form. Our code is 6026.
Can I transfer my CLEP credits to another school?
Each school has their own policy regarding CLEP credit. It is your responsibility to contact the receiving institution's Registrar Office or Testing Center for that information.

How long is the exam?
Each CLEP exam is approximate 90 minutes.
What should I bring the day of the test?
Examinees must show two forms of personal identification in order to be admitted to the testing room. The name (first and last) must match the name on both ID's and registration. Your 2 forms of ID, registration form, appropriate form of payment, and pink receipt for non-ASU Beebe students must be provided prior to test administration. Can I use a calculator?
No. Calculators are not allowed on this exam.
When will I receive my scores?
It takes approximately 2-3 weeks for your score to get to your institution. However, you will receive your score report after you complete your exam.
What is the re-test policy?
A CLEP with the same title may not be retaken within a six-month period.
