"Transforming Lives Through Quality Learning Experiences"

Library of Congress Presentation
Published: April 04 2017

Several students, faculty, and staff at Arkansas State University-Beebe (ASUB) recently attended a Library of Congress Veterans History Project presentation by Anita Deason, a retired colonel and liaison for the Military and Veterans Affairs with Sen. John Boozman’s office. The United States Congress created the Veterans History Project in 2000 as part of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. The project collects and preserves personal stories and other documents from America’s military veterans. Arkansas has approximately 250,000 living veterans, with only 1,100 stories submitted to the Library of Congress since the project began. For more information about the project or to learn how to submit a veteran’s story, view the Veterans History Project website at www.loc.gov/vets.  For more information about ASUB programs offered, call (501) 882-3600 or view the website at www.asub.edu.
