ASU-Beebe officially named Teddy Davis as Dean of the Arts and Humanities Division effective April 1, 2020.
"In her 37th academic year at ASU-Beebe, Teddy brings a tremendous amount of experience to the division," stated Dr. Jason Goodner, Vice Chancellor for Academics at ASU-Beebe. "I am confident Teddy will move the Division of Arts & Humanities forward while maintaining its momentum in advising, online education, and student success."
In addition to serving as interim dean, Davis has served as Program Coordinator guiding and leading many tasks associated with the deanship such as budgeting, course scheduling, student success initiatives, and personnel.” Prior to her duties as Program Coordinator, Davis was a long time Department Chair for the Division of Education and Social Sciences.
Davis began classes as a student at ASU-Beebe in the fall of 1976 and received an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts in 1978. In the spring of 1978, she transferred to ASU at Jonesboro and received a Bachelor of Science in Education in Social Science in 1980, a Master’s degree in Political Science in 1981 and a Specialist in Community College Teaching in 1983. As Davis was completing the specialist degree, she began her career at ASU-Beebe, teaching political science and geography.
Davis received the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2017 at the Arkansas Community Colleges Conference and is a past recipient of the ASU-Beebe Positive Faculty Award.
“Teaching and advising allowed me to help students in a direct way to get on the right path to success and now I will be able to continue helping students succeed by making more pathways possible,” said Davis.
