Towering genius disdains a beaten path. It seeks regions hitherto unexplored.
Abraham Lincoln (Speeches and Letters of Abraham Lincoln, 1832-1865, Firework Press, 2015)
The title, Uncharted, characterizes the writing, art, and photography selected for publication in the literary and art magazine at Arkansas State University in Beebe. Each piece in some way interrupts the pattern of convention or illuminates the dark corners of topics unexplored.
The 2019 volume of Uncharted can only be described as synergistic. Synergy is characterized by a cooperative effort to create a product in which the combined effect is greater than any one individual could achieve. Uncharted 2019 is the product of a collective work between the Dean of Arts and Humanities; faculty advisors; student members of the ASUB Publishing Studio; Arts and Humanities faculty; and the talented student writers, artists, and photographers in the Arts and Humanities Division at Arkansas State University-Beebe.
We hope you enjoy this edition of Uncharted and that it inspires your own unexplored ideas, creations, and conversations.
You have an opportunity to be a published author if you are an ASUB student.
