Below are frequently asked questions about Email, the Vanguard Portal, Blackboard, Office 365, and other issues...

 

To access your email, go to mail.asub.edu.  Your email address will be your firstname.lastname@smail.asub.edu.  The default password will be in the following format:

  • First Initial (UPPER-CASE), Last Initial (lower-case), your 8-digit birthdate (MMDDYYYY).
  • Some passwords will end with an exclamation point (!)
  • Example: John Doe with a birthday of 07/04/1985 will have the email address "john.doe@smail.asub.edu" and will have the following password = Jd07041985 or Jd07041985!

If you already created a new password, and forgot that password, you can call the ITS Helpdesk at 501.882.8999 to have your password reset.  You can also submit a ticket through the ITS Helpdesk Self-Service Portal or send an email to helpdesk@asub.edu

To log onto a campus computer, you will use the same username and password that you use for your Vanguard Portal (see Vanguard Portal access instructions above).

Blackboard is the Learning Management System used for ASU-Beebe Online College, internet assisted courses, and as a supplement with traditional classes.  All students have access to Blackboard. Once logged into the learning management system, students will have access to the online Learning Center, Library, Student Union, and Blackboard & Online College Orientation, in addition to their classes. Students will have access to online classes two days prior to the class starting.

Blackboard can be accessed through the Vanguard portal (see Vanguard Portal log in information above).  But you can also access Blackboard directly by following these instructions:

To log in, click on the Blackboard link found on the ASU-Beebe website Current Students page or type http://bbapp.asub.edu into your browser.

  • Username: ASU-Beebe ID number (found on Student ID card and Vanguard Portal Dashboard)
  • Password: 6-digit birth date (MMDDYY)

For your convenience, a guest wifi account has been set up to allow any person on campus to easily access ASU-Beebe's campus wifi. To access this, join the "ASUB GUEST" network. There is no log in required for access to the guest network. Please refer to the Computer and Network Use Policy before using this network.

Office 365 is a FREE download available to all ASU-Beebe students and employees. Office 365 offers Microsoft Office applications plus other productivity services that are enabled over the Internet. For a FREE download of Office 365, click the App Launcher at the top left corner of your email, select “Video” and go to the ITS channel. From there, click the “Microsoft Office 2016 Installation” tutorial. Each person is allotted 5 free downloads to any PC and 5 free downloads to any mobile device.

Employee Account Setup Information

Once a new employee's paperwork is processed and entered into the Campus Information System, the following accounts will be automatically setup:

  • Employee Domain access (computer logon)
  • Campus Connect
  • Email
  • Paystub
  • Vanguard Portal (Faculty only)

For access to other applications such as POISE or Webextender, or for items such as a long distance code, or an office/desk phone, please complete the Network and System Access Form online.  If you are completing the online form, your supervisor will need to email helpdesk@asub.edu to confirm your submission and special requests if applicable.  You may also complete a PDF version (Network and System Access Form PDF) and email it to helpdesk@asub.edu

Through a partnership between A-State and ASUB, students may earn baccalaureate degrees from Arkansas State University by taking coursework at the Degree Center on the Beebe campus.
