Three Perspectives Art Exhibit
Published: October 28 2013

The Arkansas State University-Beebe Art Department is proud to present Three Perspectives, a collection of works by three area artists, Luis Alberto-Garcia, Lee Callas, and Gary Scroggs.

The exhibit presents the artists’ unique perspective in varied modes of expression, while also being unified by a strong passion for exploration. The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 15.

The ASU-Beebe Art Department is located in the England Center, where basic art classes are taught in design, drawing, painting, and ceramics. The graphics design coursework focuses on practical foundations in graphic illustration, photography and color theory. Several studio classrooms are equipped with lighting and specially-suited equipment, as well as a covered outdoor patio for students in ceramics to explore alternative firing techniques.

ASU-Beebe is the only two-year college in the state of Arkansas that offers an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree. The AFA degree has an emphasis in graphic design or creative arts enterprise. This degree is a comprehensive two-year curriculum designed specifically for transfer toward a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

The England Center Art Gallery displays art pieces on modular walls, which are more versatile for exhibitions. The gallery sponsors four to five exhibits each year, featuring various art professionals.

Three Perspectives may be viewed at the England Center Art Gallery, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The gallery is located at the corner of Center and Orange Streets in Beebe. For more information, call (501) 882-4495.
