I primarily teach agronomy courses, including Plant Science, Soil Science, General Horticultural, and Field Crops. I also teach Agricultural Economics and Extension and Agricultural Education. I am also responsible for advising agricultural majors. I manage the ASU-Beebe Farm greenhouse, as well as the farms fruit tree orchard and blueberry patch. I am the co-advisor/sponsor of the Agri Club. I have taught at ASU-Beebe for 15 years. Before my tenure here I was an Agriculture Agent for the Cooperative Extension Service.
I grew up on a family farm in the delta, where we grew cotton, soybeans, rice, corn, and wheat. We also raised some livestock. My wife and I recently celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary. She is a junior high teacher. I have two 20-something children. My son is a mechanical engineer for Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, and my daughter is completing a pre-medical biology degree. My hobbies include reading and playing electric guitar (poorly).
