Mary Jo Parker is the Associate Professor of Piano and Accompanist at Arkansas State University-Beebe, where she teaches music theory, ear training, applied and class piano, and accompanies the choirs, applied voice and instrumental students. She received a bachelor of music from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, and a master of music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Ms. Parker has taught private piano lessons for over 25 years, and as a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, regularly enters students in the annual guild auditions held in locations throughout the U. S. She has served as an accompanist at numerous saxophone conferences on the state, regional, and international levels. She has accompanied students at University of Arkansas, Monticello, and Louisiana Tech University, and junior high and high school choirs in Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as the North Central Louisiana Masterworks Chorus and Chamber Ensemble. As an organist, she has worked in Baptist and Presbyterian churches in Tennessee, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
