I take a positive perspective on life's opportunities and challenges, allowing the experience to make me a stronger, wiser, and more discerning man -- with the added bonus of a relaxed, humorous view of life (being a tongue-in-cheek humor). Also, I am fascinated by different cultures, which could explain my enthusiasm for trying various ethnic cuisines.
Though I am an English professor, I actually do have a personality, and no, I do not have a habit of correcting people's grammar at the dinner table. I can fit into just about any social gathering, including a classroom.
Am I a nerd? No. (unless you count my literary and philosophical background to be such)
Am I a jock? No. (unless you count my being a band jock in high school and college) -- and does enjoying a game of horseshoes count?
Am I a techno-geek? In a way. (I use computers quite a bit in my teaching career, on-campus and on-line classes.)
So who am I really? Just an easy-going fellow. I find joy in my relationship with God, He is my Lord and King --though my guardian angel has to really put in some overtime. Also, I try to be as active in the Church as possible, acting as head of the liturgy, sacristan, extraordinary minister, lector, usher, or any other role that needs filling. In addition, I'm a member of the Knights of Columbus.
