Biography

Education:

Aaron Carr has an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and an Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science in General Technology all of which were earned within the ASU System.

Experience:

Aaron Carr is an instructor of welding on the Heber Springs campus. As a student, he attended Heber Springs, Beebe, and Jonesboro campuses, and was awarded the Outstanding Technology Student from A-State in 2011. Aaron is CWI, CWE and a NCCER craft instructor who has been welding for 12 years and teaching for seven years. Prior to becoming an instructor, he worked as a student intern to help construct the welding stations on the Heber Springs campus. He is also a three-time past Arkansas State Title holder in Welding, as well as a national top-six finalist in SkillUSA, World Skills, and AWS Welding Competition. He has instructed and coached two welding competitors to the top-three national finalist positions and several more to state titles. He mentors both high school and post-secondary welders in competitions and career seeking endeavors. Aaron is married with one daughter. He is compelled to share his passion for welding with students and industry representatives, making sure to emphasize how education and vocational training can positively impact individuals, families, and employers.

Advanced Programs

Through a partnership between A-State and ASUB, students may earn baccalaureate degrees from Arkansas State University by taking coursework at the Degree Center on the Beebe campus.
