Continuing Education

The Continuing Education/Workforce Development Department at ASU-Beebe sponsors numerous non-credit classes that are designed to meet the needs of the general public and business workforce.  These short-term classes are usually offered at night, weekends, or online and are designed to enhance personal or professional skills.  Ten students constitute a class and classes are held upon request by businesses and the general public.  Classes may be customized and are conducted on all four of the ASU-Beebe campuses:  Searcy, Beebe, Heber Springs, and Little Rock Air Force Base.

Electrical Apprenticeship

The ASU-Heber Springs Electrical Apprenticeship program is a four-year program and is designed for those working in the electrical field and interested in obtaining the electrical journeyman's license. This program was designed by a local electrical committee and approved by the Department of Career Education's state apprenticeship offices.

The state of Arkansas requires that a person working in the electrical field must either have a journeyman or master electrician's license or be enrolled in an approved electrical apprenticeship program and working towards that goal.

To qualify for the electrical apprenticeship program, students must be employed by a master or journeyman electrician and gaining 2000 on-the-job training hours per year. Tuition is $260 each year. Plumbing Apprenticeship

The ASU-Heber Springs Plumbing Apprenticeship Program is a four-year program and is taught on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m.. for 160 hours per year. These classes meet at the Latimer Center at 71 Cleburne Park Road, Heber Springs, Arkansas. This program was designed by the Heber Springs Plumbing Apprenticeship Committee and approved by the Department of Career Education's state apprenticeship office.

The state of Arkansas requires that a person working in the plumbing field must either have a journeyman or master plumber's license or be enrolled in an approved plumbing apprenticeship program and working towards that goal. To qualify for the plumbing apprenticeship program, students must be employed by a master or journeyman plumber and gaining 2000 on-the-job training hours per year. Tuition is $300 each year.
