  • Travel Reimbursements
  • Education

The Employment and Training Program (E&T) is for food stamp recipients between the ages of 18-49. Referrals for the program are made by DHHS case workers. There are certain eligibility requirements that determine if one will be referred.

The E&T Program offers Job Search Training which includes skills assessment, resume development, interview coaching, and job leads. Participants are then put in an individual job search to utilize these skills. The Employment and Training Program can also offer Education. Participants can be enrolled in classes to improve basic skills including reading and math, acquire a GED, or gain occupational skills such as self-guided computer-assisted learning programs. Participants can also be enrolled in short courses (12 months) in post-secondary vocational training.

Participants can be reimbursed $.34 per mile, up to $285.00 a month, for travel reimbursement. This includes job searching, training, education, and any mandatory meetings with the Employment and Training Coordinator or educators.
